To verify SNMP communication from the server to a device use the Poll Device tool:
Run the tool and enter the IP address and SNMP community string of the device:
Click “Submit” to check for communication with the device. If the device responds, you will see its system description in the status window.
- If it does not respond, you will see “No response received from the device”.
- If it does not respond, check to see if the device is configured to only respond to certain SNMP hosts
- Check if the device is behind a firewall that is preventing SNMP packets from flowing
- Is it a VLAN issue? Try moving it to another Subnet.
