TotalView will need to communicate with a variety of devices using different ports. This article describes the communications requirements to install and use the solution.

Required Communications for the Service

  • License server check: The service will need outbound HTTPS (TCP port 443) access to our license server https://sub01.nlsubscription.com to validate its license.
  • SNMP fetch: The service will need outbound SNMP (UDP port 161) access to network switches, routers, gateways, and servers that will be monitored.
  • TotalView Web UI: The service will need inbound HTTP using default TCP port 8084. This port number can be changed if desired.

Required Communications for the Call Simulator

  • License check: The call simulator executable will need to communicate with the TotalView service via the default TCP port 8084 for license verification.
  • ICMP ping: The call simulator executable will need ICMP ping to be enabled to and from end devices for testing purposes.
  • VoIP Simulation: The call simulator executable will need RTP ports (UDP 5060, 5061, and 16384 – 32767) available to test for stability between call simulator agents.

Optional Communications for the Service

  • SMTP email: The service will need outbound SMTP (TCP port 25) access to a mail relay server to be able to send email reports and alerts if configured.
  • Syslog server: The service will need inbound syslog (UDP port 514) to be able to receive syslog messages.
  • Syslog alerting: The service will need outbound syslog (UDP port 515) to be able to send alerts outbound as syslog messages
  • TFTP server: The service will need inbound TFTP (UDP port 69) to be able to receive TFTP files.
  • ShoreTel Connector: The service will need outbound MySQL access (TCP port 4309) to be able to query CDR records on the ShoreTel HQ server.
  • Enterprise Module: The service will need appropriate outbound access to the configured ODBC database connector to store records. This protocol and port are typically defined in the ODBC configuration tool as per the selected database specification.
