To Help in Planning for Network Growth, Making sure that you always have free network ports available for growth is important. The Operationally Down Interfaces are interfaces that are not in use. When the number of Operationally Down ports gets too low, additional switch ports should be acquired.
The Administratively Shut Down interfaces are interfaces that have been disabled by the network administrator, and will not function if a node is connected.
