PathSolutions TotalView has the following communications requirements to run:

  •  The PathSolutions server should be able to send UDP requests to port 161 to all monitored devices to collect SNMP information.
  •  All appropriate users should be able to send HTTP requests to TCP port 8084 (default PathSolutions port) to communicate with the PathSolutions server. This port can be changed in the “Config Tool” Output tab to port 80 or any other non-conflicting port on the PathSolutions server if desired.
  •  The PathSolutions server should be able to send TCP requests to port 443 (HTTPS) to validate its license against our Internet-based license server https://sub01.nlsubscription.com.

Optional port/protocols:

  •  If the syslog server is enabled on TotalView, all devices should be able to send UDP port 514 to the PathSolutions server.
  •  If the TFTP server is enabled on TotalView, all devices should be able to send UDP port 69 to the PathSolutions server.
  •  If the TotalView server is expected to send email alerts and reports, then it should be permitted to send TCP port 25 outbound to an SMTP mail relay server.
